I purchased my Scorpio SLX CRDe, 3 months back. I had a major problem on my first service but the whole differential drive assembly was changed by the workshop as the car is under warranty. After the replacement, its runing like a wind. Well theres some noise in the cabin but its minimal, even my Santro makes that kind of noise when revving up.
Overall the car is most apt for our Indian road conditions, where we have millions of potholes, unevenness, or if all is well theres a cow or goat crossing the road. In such situations, Scorpio displays fantastic ability to come in control and due to a wide and high driving position, its easy for the driver to anticipate circumstances.
I would call it a drivers pleasure. Previously I had driven the Tata Safari, but somehow it is not a drivers car. The suspension is very good, especially on roads in the villages, where one can expect mud tracks at times. There is certian amount of roll but one must realise that its not a Formula 1 racer, its a passanger car which has a higher centre of gravity, hence the tendency to roll on short steep turns.
