I was driving my 5000 km old scorpio in Chennai at about 60 km on the highway. A dog ran out suddenly and I stepped on the brakes the car did a 180 degree skid and flipped on to its left side. Thankfully because of the seat belts and the rugged construction my passenger and I walked away without a scratch. We pushed the car over and drove on. The left side needed extensive tinkering work.
On examining the accident spot, I found that my right side wheels were driving on the wet surface of the road, on water spilt by a tanker while the left side was on dry traction.
I was very surprised after the incident as I always considered the Scorpio to be very stable.
Please note - - I was not going fast. and was not under the influence of liquor. Only contributing factor that I can think of was the wet road under the right side wheels.
