Not at all thrilling !!!

Hey, I just took a Scorpio DX the other day for a test drive and drove it just about 5 kilometers and stopped because it was not thrilling at all!

You know what, for better part of the drive, I drove it at over 100 KMPH and there was no other vehicle on the road with which I had to compete to rule the road. I could cross any vehicle and overtake it so very effortlessly that I felt as though I was crossing the walkers with my sporty bicycle.

I am used to driving my Maruti for over six long years. It promptly keeps me on alert about the speed at which I was driving once I cross 60 or so with slight to moderate wobble (increases with speed) and of course proportionately increasing noise. But what about a Scorpio? You know, I just pressed the accelerator and kept changing gears when felt comfortable and did not even know I was driving at 110 KMPH until I saw the speedometer! No vibrations, no noise, nothing... So boring, is isn’t it?

There is another thing - the seats and other such stuff. When I sat in any other car so far, I knew I sat in car. But Scorpio - well, until I got off it, I did not even know I was traveling. The comfort of the seat was such that I did not feel I was away from highly ergonomically designed office chair. What about the AC? I did not even know it was on because it did not even made the hissing noise of the blower. All the while I was wondering why the car was so cool when the city was actually so hot.

After driving my small car for so long and went for a test drive of a Scorpio, I thought it would be difficult because of the huge size, but it made no difference at all. I could drive it so coolly that I felt as if I was riding my powerful motorbike. So, when my colleague, who also accompanied me for the drive, asked me how I felt, I didn’t know what to tell him.

I surely expected a lot of excitement in driving a Scorpio over driving a Maruti but ultimately the drive was SSSOOOOO SSSMMMMOOOOOOTTHHH that it made me feel no excitement at all. May be, habits die hard and I am habituated to driving a car that makes noise, vibrates and wobbles at high speeds and its hard for me to change, huh...
