I was much awaited for the new baby from mahindra called SCORPIO and I was so eager to look this vehicle that when it was launch at bombay I was one of those people who had feel it and taken Test Ride of it. But my experience of this vehicle is an Average Vehicle because what one expects from an manufacturer who is working on the project from last 5 years it cant match anywhere. No doubt the looks are good but front grill give us idea of bolero because it seems like it, cladding on the doors also gives good looks to the body but from rear they had copied Quallis looks and which doesnt suite it. Interiors are also good and over all finishing of the vehicle was also good. But the leg room in the middle row is less.
The driving experience of scorpio is good pic up and acceleration is good compare to Safari, brakes are also good but gear shifting is not as smooth as Quallis or a customer which gets in a car who is spending 6 lacs of Rupees. when vehicle cross the speed of 100 km then it is difficult to handle it as we feel it unstable. The diesel vehilce has 2600 c c engine which gives out 105 bhp so again I think it cant give milege more than 9 km/lit. so average is quite low.
Vehicle would be good for those who wants to sell Safari and to go for an change in this segment but my advice is that one who is thinking to sell Quallis and to buy Scorpio I think it is foolishness becasue a comfort of Quallis cant get in this vehicle and of course a feel of car is also missing in this vehicle. But again One should check the maintenace cost of the vehicle and I am sure it would be lesser than Of Quallis.
so my feeling is that this vehicle is value for money at this price but if it cross mark of 6.5 lac then one should go for a car or in Utility vehicle a Quallis.
