When mahindra and mahindra launched their new mystery vehicle two years ago everyone was shocked because not even in the wildest of dreams had anyone thought M & M a company which is good at making a rural jeeps and tractors will make a city car , yes M&M do call the scorpio a car and not a MUV or SUV, its sleek looks from the outside and equally awe ?inspiring interiors were enough to make you buy it instantly, that is if you had the money. Let us look at the features one on one shall we..
PRICE
Generally this is given at the bottom but, why bother reading if you don?t have the money to buy it , so here it is right at the top scorpio is available in 4 models in the diesel variant and the price starts from 6.30lakh-7.80 lakh ex showroom without insurance , registration etc etc so if the price is within your reach read on

Basic scorpio with a/c and power-steering as standard
Scorpio 2.6 turbo DX
Scorpio that has a/c , power steering, plastic cladding, wheel caps as standard
Scorpio 2.6 turbo GLX
a/c , power-steering , body colored cladding, power windows , central locking, rear window defroster, ski rack and wheel caps rear wiper and stereo system
scorpio 2.6 turbo SLX
all of the above in GLX plus two toned body color( exterior as well as interiors) and a sensor which alerts you on various things.

UNDER THE HOOD
2600 cc (not exactly) turbo charged engine , two years ago people said reliabily was not tested now two years later no one complains. also because of the enormous power under the hood scorpio is easily one of the fastest car that a average Indian can buy .
EXTERIORS
Well as you might have seen for yourself the scorpio is also one of the best looking cars India has made (indigenously) (look at the competition ambassador, mar 800 hahaha), the scorpio looks best with the cladding on aither in a dual shade or in body colored but isn?t quiet pretty in the plastic ones .also the advantage it gives you while driving this cars is the it scares your fellow riders, rickshawallas, motorcyclist and even car owners.also the scorpio still can turn heads even after two years after launch only the right person has to sit at the driver seat ;)
INTERIORS
The scorpio can seat 8-9 compartably depending on what type you choose, first the legroom at all the three rows is not that great but the fabulous interiors make up for it , although not as polished as some phoren cars it still does a fab job. The a/c is one of the best in its class and the dashboard and the instrument panel at the front is absolutely best compare it to anything even qualis or tavera .the seats are comfortable and they are fire resistant too. only problem with the interiors is that if you want to add some extra speakers and woofers god bless you but there is very little space left for you to do it so.
RIDING THE BEAST
The scorpio comes with speed sensitive powersteering so if you know to drive then you definetly can drive this , the handling at low speeds is no problems for most cars , but even on high speeds the scorpio handles very very swiftly , also the ride quality is very impressive considering the condition of the Indian roads , the gear shift is smooth and is a 5 speed manual one .also the moment you ride it it gives you a feeling of being on top due to the height of the car , although scorpio is the greatest car but the mixture of doing so many good things make it into a gr8 package
LOOSE ENDS
So everything thing has flaws maybe the maybach too has one but scorpio has more than one;)
The brakes although good are quiet weak which might become critical when quick braking is required
The gear shifting can also get a bit flawed sometimes (by flawed I mean a bit stiff)
Although the scorpio is a great package it could have been better the Indian make clearly shows with some cheap plastics used here and there
And some minor ones
Oh well how can I forget the one thing that every Indian looks into while buying a car
Well the scorpio returns a decent 9-10 and 10-13 in cities with the aircon on
Also the maintanence of the car is not all that expensive and being a M&M vehicle you can drive it in most of the terrain our great land throws up at you
Also I would like to see a few more thing if M&M do update the scorpio

An increase in the overall length
Some extra colors
And a bit more sting
Also please don?t compare this car to another, buy it just to drive it.
