This is Mahesh from Bangalore. I do not own a Mahindra Scorpio but I have used this vehicle for allmost a month. I own a safari 4x4.
I think Mahindra has made a move in the right direction. This is the first SUV in india which has got CDRI. This help in burning diesel better so better power n mileage. This tech was first introduced in a Merc.
The looks of the vehicle is good from the front and side. But from the back it is pretty ordinary and the bulge on the top spoils the look. I donno why mahindra have done that.
It is 2600CC turbo charged engine which is really good, it can be more refined but it is not bad. She settles well after some minutes. The NVH levels are low and the air con is excellent, ofcourse it comes with a split AC. Pity it does not have a 4x4 which is must for a SUV with soo much of power. Mileage is around 8 in city. But the engine is more relaxed on the highway. I could make a decent 145 on the speedo. The engine is very peppy when u compare with a qualis or safari. But the handling is not all that good. Mahindra have to do some thing about it. Brakes are good.. of course when she is wearing Bridgestone Potenza’s.
Interiors are good but I donno which they are not given internally adjustable mirrors. But over all much better than the Armada or Bolero. Legroom in the middle is cramped n uncomfortable. Safari is much better in this area.
Overall Mahindra have made a move in the right direction and have to improve on the good work.
