The Mahindra Scorpio since 2002 has come a real long way posting continuous improvements - be it New Engines / ABS / 2DIN System / Tweaked Suspensions / More Power etc etc.
I was with my family to see the new mighty scorpio at their showroom in gurgaon. The best part is that they have discontinued the 2.6 crde and all variants now come with mHawk 2.2 - which is an engine better than the earlier one. The interiors were also well composed with the new 2 DIN stereo looking nice - and added an upscale look to the interiors.
They have launched 2 more variants apart from the VLX which was alredy present - The SLE and the LX. Both are with mHawk engines. The one for me is SLE which has ABS. SOme faetures as compared to the VLX are missig eg. rain sensors / auto headlamps / some more- but I can do without them. The best part is that Mahindras have price their vehicles veryyyyy competively. The LX comes for 7.2 ex. The SLE for 8.2 ex. This places them right bang in the center of even categories of SX4, City, Verna as well. So all new prospective buyers would not mind switching to an SUV in the budget of a c-seg car. I would not.
Yes - Scorpio is leagues behind the T. Innova - but still the looks, presence are much better. I do appreciate difference of opinion. The only thing which I felt in scorpio was the braking system which now has the ABS in the middle category as well.
Im sure this vehicle will still be in the hearts of many people for a long time.
