I bought a M Hawk on 30 May 08. Within 10 days it started giving starting trouble specially after long drives. After 2 visits from the India Garrage breakdown team and the Exide Batmobile it was found that 2 cells of the battery were dead. Finally on 30 Aug the battery was sent to Exide by the agency.
I was not given a service battery - Exide flatly refused. It took them 2 weeks - and finally after many phone calls I was informed on 13 Sep - that Exide has returned the battery saying nothing is wrong with it. Whereas, the battery which I took out of my jeep and was using did not give any trouble at all. Its shocking that:
(a) A premium vehicle has to be pushed started when hardly ten days old. It got good publicity at Sathyam theatres one night besides outside restaurants on 2 occasions.
(b) The Mahindra agency - India Garrages - has no control - over their vendors.
(c) The PDI checks are of such poor quality.
Caveat Emptor -
