I have been in the gulf for almost 17 years & have used quiet a few cars, latest being the mighty Land cruiser & c class Merc(of my wife). While on vaccation to kerala we normally used taxis, which is so freely available. However 2 years back we had a bad expreience, my little son got ill at midnight & we had hell of a problem finding some taxi that night, also the next week I wet with my wife for a wedding in my bike(Karizma), but on the way it rained & we got wet.
Finally I deceide that I need a car, so brought a opel corsa, 2 nd hand. We realised if all the members of the family travelled to & fm Airport or had to go somewhere we had to hire a taxi again. So finally I decided to buy an SUV, there where quiet a few options, but Scorpio was never in my mind. Innova or a Tata Safari were playing on my mind. ON ther other hand everybody I spoke to me suggested a Scorpio, including my wife who had a ride in a scorpio during the last vaccation.
Innova was out of Stock & Safari had a few nagging problems so I decided to call Mahindra delaer to see I could get one within a weeks time as I would be in India by that time.
Well all went well & on the 19th April(Sunday) I was given delivery of a Scorpio XLE Mhwak.
Well, I was quiet happy with the spcaious & Well laid out interiors, But having paid Almost 9 lacs on road this car had no stereo. The best part is the engine, it is so powerful that you enevr feel let down. The gear ratios are also such that you dont have to keep changing them . I a weeks time I have driven the car for almost 1000kms.
I would rate this as a very good product from india comparable to any other models in the world, in terms of engine & space. In terms of ride quality on gihway the car is quiet a pleausre to drive, but on interior roads of small towns you get a bumpy ride & a bit of body roll.
Over all I am very happy with this product & I told my friends that I dont feel much difference in the cars that I was driving in Dubai & the scorpio.
