I got the delivery of my XUV500 wd8 on 19th July 2012. In exact 6 days there was a heavy rain in Delhi , the interior of car was leaking water in streams. When contacted the service station Koncept Mahindra, they got the vehicle picked and wanted to change the windscreen. I was so hassled after spending 16 lacs I get water leakage. I left my iPod in the car, which got stolen at the service station.
True to the Indian standards, Mahindra lied about the windscreen and returned the car in 2 days without changing. Luckily I had pasted a identifying sticker on the windscreen, which exposed their lie.
This time I confronted them. They agreed to change the windscreen again. My driver sat through the repair. He noticed that earlier repair was done by packing card boards. This time however he got it repaired with new rubber linings.
My complaint about iPod has fallen to deaf ears. I know I should not have left it when sending for service but this happens all the time in my Toyota Altis and never have I lost any thing like phone, iPod etc.
The brakes have now started making grinding noise.
The drive is rough.
The wiper has a poor quality rubber (even in new car it makes creaking noise rubbing the glass)
Too many gizmos which you hardly need.
So guys if you have few more lacs buying a Toyota Fortuner is a better bet. as the car and service are world class. And you will be saved of mental harassment of water leaking , brake noise or AC failure or pinion of steering hitting your toe while turning.
I wonder how they would sell in Kenya, Australia.???
