A day before I was driving past a mahindra showrum in dehradun I planned to have a test drive of the fresh face XYLO. The dealer was good.dint keep me waiting.i got the car to drive within 10 mins or so.
till then I investigated whats the diesel daddy has in his tubby.it was an enormous engine cover tagged with M-EAGLE trademark.the component placing was different especially the air filter and coolant chamber.a very thick sound insulator on the bonnet cover.all this made me excited to get my hands on this diesel
When I sat before the steering.it made me feel gud.the windshield inclination was something different that I first noticed.apart from the chair comfort.the dashboard built and placing of buttons within the car were awesome.Its god to see an Indian car brand deliver such a gud.Well about the drive.the car picked up speed within no time.no noise this time like Scorpio that made me feel diesel.but gear & accelerator pedal vibrated a bit.i was enjoyed with the drive.and went to check the turning radius(imp factor nowadayz).
IT MADE ME SHOCKED.the car turned covering the least space on ground.the a/c was pretty effective.as the talked about the windshield inclination it was to reduce the virtual distance between the bonnet and the driver.(hope u understud)
The only thing I dint like about this car was thestability the car delivered.car wobbled while harsh clutching/braking/accelerating or steering
The fact that the suspension was not gud.or the center of gravity is not monitored well.Mahindra only knows
thats the reason why I truly HATE when the car is compared to a segment leader INNOVA.I admit that INNOVA doesnt have the techiee stuff xylo delivers but innova is far more stable than xylo.
The rear comfort is best in innova.uncomparable with XYLO.
In short I would like to say that Mahindra have only hampered the sales of SCORPIO.becoz Xlyo has all the features of scorpio also m-eagle delivers 112bhp same as scorpio at a lower price.and better fuel efficiency:)
So why buy scorpio.?
I wud like to conclude the post wid some pro’s and con’s.:
PROS:
1) The foldable tray’s for the middle passenger’s is something good by default in this range
2) The cabin light is nice makes you feel bright LED lights are on all thee rows
3)Intelligent park assist(reverse sensor on rear view mirror)
4) Decent looking dash gives upmarket feel
5) THE MOST VALUE FOR MONEY CAR IN THE MARKET AT A STEAL DEAL
CONS
1) Have a big suitcase? forget your trip.The boot can only store a slim briefcase nothing more.lolz
2) Cramped last row seating.hope NANO’s rear has more.lolz
3) The car stability has some issues;lack of gud suspension(side effect of cost cutting).thats why I tell people not to compare it with INNOVA
4) If you are a safety equipment freeko like airbags.etc.you are bound to be disappointed
5) A good car for 4 not for 7
