My experience with Xylo for the last 18 months

I am compelled to write this review after reading a test drive report by a team bhpian. His comment that Mahindra has not dared to compare Xylo with an Innova is totally baseless. The brochures provided by the Coy clearly states the advantages of Xylo over Innova pointed out by a majority of auto journals. Any one can visit the sites of Overdrive. BS motoring etc. Next, to his comments on the brakes of Xylo. I have driven the vehicle(D2) for 18, 000 kms, mainly long drives (Trivandrum to Cochin, Trivandrum to Thirunelly in Wayanad, Trivandrum to Pondicherry etc.).

The brakes have never betrayed me and I find that it is better than other vehicles as the other day when I hit the brake hard on sighting a speed breaker, the vehicle following me ( a Ford Figo hit his brakes hard and took a detour to avoid a back end collision. Regarding its boat like swing, well it swings a bit but not to the extent the bhpian claims. I have never felt tired while driving the vehicle and I find that the noise levels are less than that of other vehicles. Regarding the vibration felt on the gear level, except Maruti Swift, I have felt the vibration on almost all Indian petrol and diesel vehicles. Many of my friends who have travelled in my vehicle has agreed that Xylo is more comfortable than Innova because of the better leg space. Autocar editor recently reported in a TV show that Innova is being redesigned to match the comfort provided by Xylo in the third row of seats. I received an email from Mahidra stating that Xylo has been ranked the No.1 MUV and ranked sixth among all cars (Toyota Innova ranked 10th) for powerful engine, low maintanance and leg space.
