It is with a lot disatisfaction that I write this mail. Finally the Xylo has proved to be non-quality controlled vehicle. I completed 13, 000 kms in Dec 09 and then started my voews with the vehicle. On 25 Dec 09, on my drive from Pondicherry to Bangalore, the steering rod sheared off leaving me completely stranded on the road. The on-road assistance did respond and the service technician from Salem did come and fit another sterring rod and I was on raod again.
But it did not end with this. Soon afterwards in Jan 2010, I started having erratic electrical probems of the starting, central locking, DDAS and the works. It just kept recurring and visit to the service station only added to the problem as the technicians seemed lost on how to handle the problem. In the end, they completely screwed up the system and my vehicle has been in the garage for the past 10 days.
To top it all, my complaints even to the senior management on the quality of the vehicle has landed on deaf ears. No replies from them till date - one week has passed. With the Xylo, I seem to be spending more time travelling in and out of garages.
I would caution anyone going for a Xylo as my experience has been really bad with the vehicle and I am planning to take up the case to return the vehicle to Mahindra and be done with it. I do not want any more association with them.
