After reading all the news and reviews all this while when in time I wanted to buy a car, I decided not to go for a sedan but a decent family car at an estimated budget. My idea of a car should fill in all the desired requirements I want from the car I buy.
So in the latter stage I decided on something in the MUV category and so shortlisted my list to two cars which had a Xylo and an Innova. The Innova test ride proved good but the Xylo one proved an excellent one. The Innova lacked the engine power as compared to a Xylo and also the reliability on highways in terms of speed. Coming to the comfort part the Xylo has massive space compared to as innova and believe me it can accomodate atleast 5-6 huge human beings with 3 more people inside the car without any sort of discomfort at the same time.
The mileage is pretty decent seeing the conditions of oru beloved indian roads which are no different from a gravel or kacha road. The Innova and Xylo are excellent car but if you can get features more than what you get in an Innova plus a price which almost 2 lakhs less than the Innova then what’s the issue with a Xylo.
The Xylo do have good looks and can take sharp turns and is an ideal vehicle for long distance journeys. Today with even after covering 10, 000 Kms my Xylo is still running as if its a brand new one.
The engine is not as roaring as in case of an Innova or a Tavera and also the ride is really really smooth as compared to the inova. The turning radius is great unlike the innova and the pick up rocks.
To conclude this one I have to say thanks to Mahindra for creating such a fine piece of product and also recommend others who are looking out for buying a family car in the near future to atleast take a test drive of the new Xylo rather than the Innova. Note : the innova is not meant for India.
