Immensely forgettable and I would never watch Main Hoon Na twice- its enough to make my insomnia go away .
There is ’’Project Milaap’’ with the protagonist the Indian Army ( Kabir Bedi , Nasiruddin Shah, SRK) and the anti-s ( Suneil Shetty). The project is about letting Pakistani POW return home ( not exchange of prisnors , mind you). And then there is Sanjana ( Amrita Rao - Will some one please tell me why these days most of the actresses look so similar)- Kabir Bedi’s daughter - the prime target , using whom Kabir Badi can be coerced to accept demands.
There is lucky ( Zayed Khan - only one word to describe him - OUCH) !! whom sanjana loves but who is interested in fooling around. There is Kiron Kher ( Lucky’s mom ) who is also Nasiruddin Shah’s wifey ( estranged , as NS was involved with another women ), Ms.Chandni ( the beautiful Chemistry teacher ) - Sushmita Sen and their is SRK - Major Ram or it is wing commander Ram ???.......
I see glimpses of poorly done Matrix ishtyle , I see politics , and I see doles of emotion but alas - not enough to keep me glued to the screen. The plot is age -old and presented in an age-old way and when you watch this film , there is a feeling of deja-vu that keeps haunting you -been there and done that ... Maybe Farah Khan is smart enough to use a well-used theme to ensure that there is some tinkle in the box office ...and in an industry where there are not much female directors, maybe we should commend her efforts - but some where watching ’’Deewar’’ , ’’Lakshya’’ and ’’MHN’’ - though MHN was a lighter story but somewhere they show two sides of the same theme and there is only one thing that I wonder about ’’ What is it about India that makes everybody want to break away and either become independent or become a part of another country? Are we so bad ?’’..or is it we are too soft ? I dont know the answer and maybe time will tell !..
SRK is jaded - for heavens sake please some one tell him to change his acting style - what is still attractive in amitabh looks irritating in him ...I used to like him but nowadays I sincerely doubt my ’’like ’’ list beacuse of him!!
Zayed Khan - as said earlier is ’’OUCH’’! I would not see him alone in a film even if some one pays me to see the film . His smile sometimes reminds me of ’’Tom Cruise’’ (do I hear cringing?) but boy !! he is .........better left unsaid
Amrita Rao - they all look the same . Sigh! there was a time when I used to be able to tell actresses apart - nowadays are octatlets --err joining movies ???? ’cause I cant tell them apart !!
Sushmita Sen - this lady should have gone some other way than film industry - she is being wasted ...
Bomman Irani - he is the only one I liked in the movie . He is going to go far.
Kiron Kher, Nasiruddin Shah, bindu , Satish Shah - are OK...
And I would mention Suneil Shetty as good because he is one of the rare ones in this industry who had the guts to go black - completely black - no greys ...thats what makes you interesting ....
Music is mediocre - nothing to write home about - the tunes are catchy but I guess they will never stay in more than a year ...
On the whole - if you dont watch the movie - you dont miss anything .
