There are two kinds of people who watch films. The first category like to watch meaningful, well written, esthetically well made films. The second category, just go to the cinema to have a good time forgetting what is happening outside. If you are of the first category, keep yourself at a fair distance from this film. Main Hoon Na (MHN) is only for the people in the later category.
I first felt MHN as an extension of Masoom. Then I thought it was like The Rock. Later it was a bit like K3G. Climax was more like a Nasser Hussain film. All in all, MHN is a perfect Masala Cocktail. I thought Sharukh Khan on a Cycle Rickshaw chasing villains in Scorpio was imagination at its best.
Ram was certainly a cake walk for Sharukh, Amrita Rao was some what boring, Zayed (hope I spelt it correctly) was a revelation as Lucky and Suniel Shetty was good as a villain. But, the sensation according to me was Sushmita Sen. She was gorgeous, pretty and sexy. She definitely stole the thunder. Music is good and there were enough scenes of laughter to keep the audience hooked up.
Talking about Camera and the graphics, one would not have thought that camera tricks now famous as ??Matrix tricks?? will be used in the situations Farah has used in MHN. Sharukh doing a Matrix while avoiding Satish Shah?s spit was really funny. Farah Khan did a decent job with this script. I thought she did not over do any thing in the film.
If you ask me, MHN should be regarded as the perfect masala cinema and should be made a bench mark kind of thing in commercial masala movies.
I will agree that MHN gave me a good break for that day and was fun to watch. Dont crib if you are of the first category and still went to watch the movie.
