Main Hoon Major Ram Prasad Sharma.

This is my second review on this flick, see I wrote the first one even before seeing the film .These ratings and comments are of my old review so please don’t consider them.

Wow! A masala of a film if I’ve ever seen one. Still it’s difficult not to be entertained by this mixed cocktail.

The script is kinda good, see it starts off as this General Bakshi

(Kabir Bedi) plans to start this mission Milaap, ( an Indo-Pak peace treaty) but is opposed by Raghavan (Suneil Shetty), a jignoistic terrorist who believes that violence is the only answer.

Raghavan manages to shoot Brigader Shekhar Sharma

(Naseeruddin Shah). He conveys his last words to his son

Ram (SRK) that he isn’t his only son and that he has a step-brother and asks

him to unite his family once again.

The General recieves a threat to his daughter’s life by Raghavan.

He asks Major Ram Prasad Sharma (SRK) to go to a college at

Darjeeiling to protect Sanjana (Amrita Rao). At first, he refuses

but then he learns that his brother, Laxman Prasad Sharma

(come on...some better names please) i.e Zayed Khan is too

in that college. So he sets off with two missions : to protect the

General’s daughter and to reunite his family. Hey! I’m not giving

away the whole Movie. This is the basic plot, so I revealed it.

The rest of the movie is simply fantastic. Farah Khan has done a superb debutorial job.

Sushmita Sen is sen-sational. The funny part is when

SRK sees her, he goes berserk and sings R.D Burman numbers for her.

She doesn’t have much to do but still she puts it off sensationally.

Zayed Khan er... needs quite some practise on his

emotional outbursts. Yeah but he did his part well in the college scenes.

Well, that’s all I can say about him.

Amrita Rao’s quite superb in her emotionalities.

I must say playing with a tomboyish attitude suits her well.

Even when she changes her looks to a normal girl, she plays her part quite well.

Shahrukh Khan is quite good playing his part.

I thought at first playing as an army major wouldn’t suit him.

I was half right but he plays his part quite professionally.Still, I found his performance quite odd, maybe it’s becoz I’m getting too used

to his mushy flicks. He gets the main title ’Main Hoon Na’, as

he’s always the problem-solver. And the cheap part is he

uses the phrase too many times in the flick. He played the

fighting bit in the end with Sunil Shetty brilliantly.

The fighting scenes are right out of the Matrix. The special

effects would be awesome to those who haven’t seen the Matrix.

Kirron Kher’s quite good in her part as Zayed’s

mother and SRK’s step-mother.

Satish Shah plays the spitting professor at

the college.He’s quite amusing.

Boman Irani is Hillarious as the forgetful principal at the college.

Suneil Shetty playing the bad guy after a long time.

He’s quite good and his dialogues are superb.

I’m not so generous to the music. I only liked ’Main Hoon Na’

and ’Chale Jaise’. ’Tumse Milke’ is O.K. Rest of the track is quite

out of place with the movie. But then... the director’s Anu Malik.

Overall, Main Hoon Na is quite brilliant.
