Now, if you thought all that Antra Malli could do is to be a seductress and a siren on ROAD! Think again.
We have heard and seen movies with a similar story and have also expereinced the pain of achieving what we aspire for. Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon is all about aspiration and preparation to achieve it. It is about big dreams of an ardent fan of Madhuri who hails from a small village or township.
Chandan Arora (Yes, he is from the Varma Corporation clan) has tried to give the mvie a different and fresh look with the sets, the screenplay and the perfromers. He has made sure that it sounds different from the Title itself. Who could think of gving or showcasing the popularity of a Start as famous as Madhuri Dxit and make a movie which actually makes sense with sensibility. He chose Antara Mali for reasons best known to us, but then what would say about casting Rajpal Yadav opposite her, SURPRISED!?!!?!
The cinematographer has made sure that the scenes speak volume from the look and make feel as if you are there and expereincing it ON LOCATION! It is mild in the day time, bright during the nautanki sequences and dark during the realisation of the real world of Glamour. It does have shades of Ramus perfectness and vision for the best. Well dont fear when you have your Godfather near! The screenplay plays a mojor role, as I mentioned before, in enhancing the characterisation of all the roles penned down by the writer.
It is a movie which would be liked by everyone, especially DREAMERS and ACHIEVERS!!
Antara who is a big Madhuri Dixit fan, like every other fan dreams of making it big in the Tinseltown. She moves and jibes on all the famous Madhuri songs in the village Nautanki and is known as Madhuri of the village. Ms. Mali has done a fine job at imitating the style and the look of Madhuri in her songs like Humko aajkal hai.. from Sailaab and Ek do teen... from Tezaab. The metamorphisis of the charcter from a girl who dreams, to a girl who goes to make it big and ultimately realizes how difficult it is to make it big in the Bad bad world of Glitterati.
The attires and sets of the village. The music of the movie deserves a special mention. It is very colloqual in approach and has verses in form of dialougues instead of Run-of- The- Mill https://lyrics. Kudos! to Amar Mohile for providing music in a movie which is based on an actress and her popularity and has to strictly stay in the boudary of REALITY.
Rajpal Yadav provides his support with aplomb. He does a serious role for the first time (after his scary bit in Darna Manaa Hai). The role demands varied emotions from him, that of a Lover, a friend, a naive village dweller and a shoulder to cry on for the Lead actress.
The movie has it all a true amlagamation of Paralell and Commercial cinema. Do watch it !!
