I recently visited Mainland China, Powai branch on my birthday as I heard a lot about this place.I went with my family and on entry was greeted and welcomed graciously .Was impressed by the chinese decor, lovely Buddha statues and dragon sculptures and black and red colours all around. We were seated in front of a lovely smiling Buddha statue and the ambience was good.
We ordered fried crab dumplings in starters, lemon coriander soup and lemon coriander chicken soup.Out of these the dumplings and chicken soup was delicious and the quantity was ok.But the veg soup was not good. Then we ordered crispy fried noodles with vegetables and I had requested more vegetables. Now I was very disappointed with the quantity of this dish, they just drizzled some yummy tomato sauce on a very small quantity of yummy crispy noodles which when softened became close to two tablespoons only and the vegetables were hardly visible on my plate.Just two florets of broccoli and one small piece of pineapple and few baby corns.Very disappointed and this was expensive.Anyways after that we ordered PAN THAI, which was also horrible tasting, I guess you need to have an acquired taste for this dish. But again the noodle quantity was miniscule & was wrapped inside an omelette which was not tasty at all. After this the desserts was a litchi icecream which was ok but priced at INR.190 for 5 litchis and a dollop of icecream on top.
At the end I was hungry and paid INR.1890/- for nothing! I mean with this amount I could have got some much more if I went to some other restaurant.I really suggest that Mainland China, Powai branch should improve the quantity of food they serve and it should match the price properly. My experience 3 years back at their SoBo branch was much better.
