The most over - hyped and a complete NO-NO restaurant !!! This happened on a sacred day – my mom’s birthday – which I will will never forget in my lifetime nor my family will. Mayyas - Bangalore As it was my mother’s birthday on June 26 2010 – we planned to celebrate her birthday in a special way .We all decided to take her out on a treat and get her a sumptous meal and end with a gift .So I called Mayya’s which is a sister concern of the word famous MTR - Mavalli Tiffin Rooms {a reputed organisation which is into food industry since 1924. We booked a table under my mother;s name and I was sent a SMS to my number .The registration number was 75156250 and the timings was @ 9pm.The so called venue was Dancing Kadai.{I don’t know wat is d connection between north indian and dancing kadai. Alrite we went ther by 8:30pm as I have heard that people wait hours together to get a seat.We were given a set for 7 at around 9:15pm. The place was full of Nepali or manipuri servers.
I don’t get to connect the logic between north indian section and north indian people.Cant our own people serve better than them ?.A matter of 15 minutes akes a lot of diffrence.We waited for around 15 minutes however no one came and took the order from our table.Is this called hospitality of MTR group?Later we called a person who was magin the show {probably the supervisor} and trhis guy doesn’t seem to apoligise and cooly came and took the order without even apologisng.Ok we ordered Veg pulav, Tandoor Roti, Subz Makai Soup, Msala Papad, Tamatar Dhania Soup, , Palak paneer soup , Dum aloo banaras , Subz Kolaphuri, Kadhai Paneer , Paneer butter masala , Butter masala , Butter Kulcha and last but not least Lassi !!! Had a great excitement after we ordered.!!! Let me give a detailed review – Tamatar Dhania Soup, Palak paneer soup – Good – 4 stars Masala Papad – ok but was small in size – Rs 35 per plate – nothin great – jus some onions and tomato – not even lemons- we later asked for them which came after 10 minutes. – Average – 2 stars Tandoor Roti and Butter Kulcha – it was nice but everythin was cold – Average – 2 stars Veg pulav – Good – only thing it was nice – 5 stars Dum aloo banaras , Subz Kolaphuri, Kadhai Paneer , Paneer butter masala – nice but little salt less in every dish – ok ok – 3 stars . Lassi – Swet but this incident made itvery sour for the whole family – we ordered 6 lassis – we received lassis but to the shock we found small scraps og metal pieces. When we escalted this to the management – they first misguided us by saying it’s a kind of spices.Lter we argued – than they apologised for he big mistake .This could have cost ou lives if we would have swalloed the metal pieces. ; - ( The heights of their hospitality is that they don’t even care to refill water .We had to call some 4 – 5 times to get it refilled. Conclusion – A big No No to this overhyped hotel which is making money and not running business for hospitality.
