Majaa

The movie Majaa is set in a rural background.

The two brothers Vikram and Pashupathy, petty thieves, decide to turn over a new leaf and work to earn their livelihood. They sell their possessions and buy a lorry which promptly breaks down outside a village. Pashupathy steals some food which is poisoned. Their father eats the food, and survives. They stay on to investigate and get involved with local politics.

Vikram gets into an argument with Asin, the goonda’s daughter, and then they fall in love. Pashupathy falls in love with the daughter of the man Asin’s father is harrassing.

There isn’t much of a story after this. There are plenty of fights, the heroes vs the villain kinds and also the brother vs brother kind.

The movie is alright. It has comedy, fights, and some not so nice songs. It is a good entertainer, and is nice to watch when you don’t have anything better to do.

Lots of people just didn’t like it. Maybe it was the rains that kept the audiences away. Whatever the reason, the movie wasn’t bad at all, and should have done better than it did.
