Last night (2004 Oct 24th), I traveled from KL to Chennai by MH180. The
flight was supposed to takeoff at 20:30. Even at 20:30 they did not call
the passengers inside the flight. No information or announcements. One
of the passengers (with a small kid) who had travelled for many hours
before coming to KL, got angry and started asking MH people about the
delay status. Then only they told that some passengers were expected to
arrive from a delayed connecting flight from Penang and hence the delay.
After some time, they allowed us inside the flight. Again inside the
flight, we waited for 30 minutes. When we asked one of the male
attendants about the delay, he said I dont have any information. I
will take you to my boss. He will tell you. Dont screw me. We were
shocked to hear his words. We just asked about the departure status and
he said Dont screw me. Finally at 22:00, after 90 minutes of delay,
the flight started moving. Later the passenger whom I had mentioned
earlier, was sitting in the same row, was given a non-veg food, while he
had told that he had asked for vegetarian food at the time of booking.
The male attendant brought a vegetarian food of different type,
(vegetables etc) not Indian type. When the passenger asked for Indian
type vegetarian food, the male attendant started using strong words
again with that passenger. When I wanted to help that passenger, the
male attendant looked at me and point his finger and said What is that
you want?. Why do you talk for him. Shut up your mouth. Have you ever
heard an inflight attendant telling the passenger Shut up. ? I knew
that he had gone crazy. I told him I am not going to talk to you any
more. I know where to take up this issue. Dont under estimate us.
The point I want to emphasize here is that Malaysian Airlines offer
totally a different type of service in sectors like KL-Narita(Tokyo),
KL-LA etc, and project as through they are very customer friendly. But
when it comes to Indian sectors, they take us for granted. Earlier when
I came from Narita to KL, the service was good and punctual timing. Are
they going to attribute the fall in service to the behavior of our
people?. It is a old theory. Lot of professionals are flying and we know
how to conduct ourselves. After coming to home, the first thing I did
was to launch a complaint.with MH over their web site.
