I’d rate them average. Certainly improving in order to match the high standards of service of their neighboring country’s national carries. Fleet is modern, except those flying to the Indian sector. Others traveling to west coast and far east have modern planes in service. Only area they seem to be loosing out is the coverage. Other Airlines flying in same sectors has much more connecting flights than Malaysian air does. Also, Malaysian air does not match up to its closest rivals when it comes to in-flight service, food and comfort. I took a trip from Tokyo->KL->India via Malaysia and came back by Singapore Air India->SG->Tokyo. The difference was obvious as the journeys were within a week. Malaysian air was also quite inflexible when I asked them to upgrade my ticket to business class (at my expense of course) as there were no seats available in economy class. After days of request, I had to ask my agent to get a ticket on Singapore air.
