Remember the Serial telecast on DD1 the only channel available for Indian viewers prior to the Cable bubble burst.
Maldugi days a serial presenting R KNarayan (Rasipuran Krishnaswamy Narayan)
book Magudi days.**MalgudiDays**was a collection of short stories by R.K.Narayan that focused on the trial and tribulations of a small Indian town of Malgudi. According to R.K. Narayan, Malgudi is a town "habited by timeless characters who could be living anywhere in the world" and is located on the banks of river *Sarayu* and surrounded by the Mempi Hills
Well Well Well enough of Gyan.... But seriously didnt you ever felt to be a part of Magudi while watching the serial. Probably be a part of Swamis Gang of friends or be it playing a character of a road side vendor. It was the only serial Ive come across in which evena menial charater had a story to say. The characterisation of the serial was such that it left its viewers pondering over social causes or evils in the society.
Hats of to R K Narayan to come up with such a great collection of short stories and also hats off to who so ever directed the serial and also to all the characters.
Hope Indian televisions golden days are back some day.
