I am sorry but I just cannot understand what this fuss is all about. So, the girl romps around in a bikini and smooches every Tom, Dick and Harry, yet her purpose is to entertain us and I think she does it well! I for one love Mallika’s interviews because unlike other actresses who mince words, she says what’s on her mind. I can understand the concern some people feel when she wears minimal clothing or acts in trashy movies, but her movies are not to be watched by Grandmas and little kids! She caters to a particular kind of crowd and she does the job to the hilt.
The reason I choose to defend her is not because I am particularly fond of her but because all people seem to do is hurl vicious remarks at her when she is really doing what every aspiring actress does these days. To expect her to mouth ‘feminist views’ and deplore the moral degradation of society and the commodification of women, is expecting a little too much!
So, all I am saying is let us just give her a break, if nothing else she does make us laugh!
For those who are not familiar with Mallika, she is an actor who started her career with Khwaaish (17 smooches people say- who are these losers who bothered counting them?) and has starred in films like Murder, Kis Kis Ki Kismet and Bachke Rehna Re Baba, besides a movie with Jackie Chan- The Myth. Last heard, She was causing a stir at the Cannes Film Festival.
