So what am I writing this review about - praising her nudity ?
no , this is about something that I appreciate in this girl , not many people have talked about .
This girl Reema Lamba has come from a very conservative society . she roots from a very backward society where girls are not even allowed to wear jeans forget about everything you’ve seen so far . period .
She graduated in Delhi and then against all odds went ahead to go for her dream career . She is a pretty girl , she could have sit home married a rich man ( that would have been easy for her , u’d agree ) and live a good decent life . Instead , she chose to go against her fathers wishes , against her family , against the tradition for something like being an actress which every girl at a time dreams of . com’on dreaming is fine but to actually go ahead in such a hugely insecure career , without anyone big known in the industry .
Just look at this - she went against her family , all alone to a big city like bombay ( not many girls can do that I guess ? ) , in an industry where there is huge exploitation ( reminds me of shakti kapoor ) , for a totally insecure career ( which you cannot predict how will it go ahead even after two hits now ? ) and she knows she will have no place to hide if she fails .
This sounds like a HUGE HUGE HUGE risk to me . how many of us would actually take small chances in our lives . risk a little embaressment even leave alone big things for what we believe in ? She must be a good actress somewhere thats why she has come so far in this land to struggle . wont she be knowing that noone can survive on just skin show .
Heroes have to struggle , film stars sons and daughters have to struggle , Rekha struggled at a time , Akshay kumar ( I am a big fan of his ) made his mark by fighting ( maybe thats an equivalent to skin for men ) and talk about exposing I think there are many candidates there also .... this girl from nowhere comes and steals the show . she made in niche for herself , all by herself .
you know what they call it : guts , sheer guts . It would take a lot of guts to even do an inch of what she has done . She would be facing criticism , derogatory remarks everyday and she still stands tall .( She just finished the Jackie Chan project the Myth ). she is considered a B grade actress though I wonder if many top actresses can even make their own decisions .
Whether she can capitalize on her success and prove herself as an actress remains to be seen .
