Lovely school

I just cannot forget Enid Blyton and her books especially the school series. St Clare’s and Malory Towers are schools that every young person dreams of. The Headmistresses, the teachers especially the French ones, the classmates, the dormitories, the midnight feasts, the pranks played by Alicia and Betty are something that one grows up with. And pities those who have not read these books.

My school in Bombay is something like that. Entirely a girls school run by the Canossian sisters, the Canossa High school(often referred to as Samosa school) is simply lovely. Big airy classrooms, wide windows, neat and clean rows of benches and desks, nice blue uniform all go to make this school very much like Malory Towers. We even have a nice open square round where assenblies are held every day. And drill, PT and games are held here at other times.

We also had a French Mother who was very fair, became red when angry and spoke with a lovely original french accent(but she was Italian).

I miss my school as much as I miss reading these books as I am too grown up now to keep reading about Malory towers and St Clare’s however much I would like to.
