Title : Manali-A delightful experience!

Review : Hi eveyone. My name is Nisarga and I am from Bangalore. I have recently finished my standard 10 board exams. It was in the month of MArch that we decided we should be heading towards the Himalayas this summer. After a debate on which hill station it would be, we chose Manlai over NAinital as these were the only 2 major hill stations in India we haven’t yet been to. So my dad booked the tickets and we left on April 14th, 2005 on the early morning flight to Delhi. There is a direct flight from delhi to MAnali but my dad wanted us to experience the beauty of the himalayas and so we decided to taki a taxi. We went to Chandigarh on the same and next morning we were on our wway to Manali. Sice it is the peak of summer it was really hot in Chandigarh and so I was dying to reach Manali as soon as possible. Its about 200 km form there but the mountains made our journey slower. First we could see valleys of only barren lands but as we ascended further on, we could see the vegetation changing. We could now spot some pine trees and ferns. As we went further on, a white like mist became visible. being the first one to notice it, I screamed with joy to my parents and brother who became too mesmorized by the sight of snow like a canopy over the mountain tops. Now I could see apple trees, pine trees and deodar trees. We reacched manali somewhere in the late afternoon. If your passing through Punjab anytime and your from another sate, I ask you not to miss those Punjabi dhabas. They are awfully cheap and really delicious. the major attraction in Manali is Rohtang pass which is about 14000ft above sea level and is really beautiful. But htis time it was close as all the roads leading to this pass were closed by the army because of the snow. Never in my life time I had imagined that I would actully be able to experience snow in this trip. Next day we went to a point calle snow point about 15km from Manali and I had one of the best experiences of my life. I enjoyes skiing with the help of a professional skiier and pelting sno balls at my family. We spent almost the entire day there. In the afternoon the temperature became 0 degrees and we were greeted with flakes of snow although it did not last long. Soon we were heading back to Manali. Next day we went to Hadimba temple and a park in Manali town which is full of deodar trees and the freezing Beas river at its side. And the driver told us that there was shooting going on and so we decided to check it out. There were 2 shootings going on. To my amazement 1 of them was Koi Mil Gaya part 2 shooting and I saw Hritik roshan and priyanka Chopra and I collected autographs from them. The other one was a film called Dosti and I collected autographs of Bobby Doel and Lara Dutta who were acting in that movie. It was really great seeing all these stars in person ang getting to speak to them. The last day we just relaxed and took and had a shopping spree. finally my trip got over and we headed bach to Chandigarh leaving the majestic Himalayas and her snow clad mountain on our backs!!! it was truly an eccelerating experience and I enjoyed every secondof it. If you want a break from the heat I highly recomend you to visit Manali- the Queen of the Himalayas!!!

P.S- it was the first time I am writing a review and I do hope you comment on it.
