THE REVIEW WON THE PRIZE OF BEST REVIEW OF MONTH JUN 07 .It was not easy decision to make of how to travel from Delhi – Manali & visiting the locations. .I  was left with 3 options to choose from. First option was to take a direct deluxe bus from Delhi – Manali ,  travellling 16 hours by bus & that too most of the night journey  & same journey schedule for coming back gave me creeps. So, this option was dropped instantly. The second option was to travel by train from delhi – chandigarh & then by car from Chandigarh – manali .

But again this option was dropped as it involved night journey by road.  So the 3rd & the only best option left was to travel by train from Delhi – Pathankot & then by car from Pathankot – Manali. This turned out be a perfect travelling plan for us .Happened to witness beautiful scenic views on the way to manali & back.Reached Pathankot in the morning. made the arrangements for the further journey to manali  from pathankot  by car , hotel booking & then local sightseeing.  got the booking done by tour agency based at Pathankot city. Reached manali at 18.30 hrs & checked in at the hotel. .

Visited the main market  .had our dinner at Chinese restaurant called Chopsticks. The food was awesome . Came back to the hotel & hit the bed . Next day morning  we visited Nehru kund , Rehalla falls & Rohtang pass . On the road which goes to rohtang more than 100 shops are renting the warm clothes like fur coats, body suits , ski suits, gloves , gumboots , snow caps etc.. On the way to Rohtang we came across our first point called as Nehru kund . It is a nice place surrounded with very beautiful natural scenery.  On the way we came acroos a very busy place called Marhi . Most of the tourists traveling by stop at this place to have some kind of refreshments or other.   On the way we happen to stop  to view a waterfall known as Rehalla falls. .

As we were yet half kilometer away from the actual sight spot we decide to take a short cut through the snow hills, But our decision of walking through the snow was proved wrong just in 5 minutes walk.  There was only one option  to take horse ride to the main snow point. we struck a deal & this deal was to take us to the special point known as zero point which very few tourists visit  . we reached the main snow point & wow it was really breathtaking view of snow clad mountains from such a close distance. The horses didn’t stopped at this point & kept moving on the other side after 10 minutes of ride these horses came to a halt. & the horse trainer/owner informed us that this point is called a zero point & we  have to reach the top.

To our surprise we didn’t find a single persons on that hill . The snow was white & fresh up there whereas at the main snow point which is fully crowded , snow colour is of muddy white .  This place was amazingly different . as we were taking snaps , we couldn’t believe our eyes  it started snow falling .  Snow fall in the month of may it is hard to believe.  we were really feeling cold from inside as the weather now turned really harsh. So we decide to climb down the hill & reached the horses which were ready to take us back.  it rained all the way long so we asked driver to take us back to the hotel . our jackets & sweaters were out . Next day morning weather was again sunny & bright, .Our first destination was Solang valley.

The distance to Solang valley is just 15 kms. From Manali, Solang valley is known for its beautiful landscape. This valley is between solang village & beas kund , it is really a treat for eyes to watch this valley view. We were dropped at the main parking lot of the valley & from there we have to cover a distance of  about  500 mtrs. we had  a deal with a horse owner & he promised us that he would take us to solang valley  &  2 more sightseeing  points.  The other 2 destinations were the river banks & the Anjani temple. The journey was full of ups & downs & on a total different route of going to Solang valley point.

After a journey of 20 minutes the horses came to a stand still & we were asked to get down.  In just 5 minutes walk through stones we reached a point where the Beas river was flowing in a form of small stream between the lush greens mountains standing tall on both sides.  Crossed the river over  the small wooden bridge & along the way the arrow marks in red are painted on the stones to show direction towards the temple. Reached the temple in another 5 minutes walk time. Offered prayers from the outside of the temple & started back . Continued our journey towards Solang valley.  Solang valley offered us the view of snow clad mountains. as it is summer time the picturesque  valley offers activities like paragliding & rolling balls , where as in winter this place is used for ski slopes

Our next destination was Vashisht temple situtated at small village called Vashisht  in old Manali area .  this temple is famous for its hot sulphur springs. It is believed that taking bath in this water cures many skin diseases . The water is very warm & you won’t feel like coming out of the pond. After spending about 20 minutes we started our journey towards our next destination that is Club House. this place as it is known for running various activities like skating, carting, tennis, river crossing , video parlour ,  indoor games etc..  Just about 100 metres away from this club there is a small restaurant called Tibet kitchen , had our lunch The food was really good , we continued to our next destination  Hadimba temple. This temple is built amid a very beautiful & peaceful place..the backdrop of this temple itself enlive one’s spirits & fresh your mind & soul.  so that was almost the end of the day .

As tomorrow was our last day ,  So we checked out of the hotel at 6.00 hrs in the morning & started our journey towards manikaran sahib. This place is famous for it’s Sikh gurudwara , Shiva temple & hot sulphur  springs.  This place is situated on the banks of river Parbati. Offered prayers & had holy food known as langar in the dining hall . After this paid visit to the famous hot springs. There are 2 ponds situate near the famous Shiva temple this temple is in the same premises as of the Sikh temple.   It took us about an hour or so at this holy place & we decide to start our back journey to Pathankot. Reached Pathankot  well before our train departure time . Reached Delhi next day morning .
