We have gone to this awesome place twice and last we went was this summer. We booked our 03 day trip to manali and boarded a Volvo bus from Delhi(Advance reservation is required due to mad rush). In an overnight Journey, we reached manali next day at around 10am. We immediately reached our hotel and went to see the Hadimba Temple which is in city premises only. The city was surrounded by lush green environment and high mountains. We have seen snow capped mountain from our hotel window.
Next morning, we went to see the Rohtang pass and solang valley and enjoyed various sports including skiing, Kayaking and parachute ride. The atmosphere was very pleasing and the manali was very beautiful. We enjoyed a lot and came back. We tasted local food also.
The only thing which I did not like was the cleanliness in the city. The city should be very clean being one of the top tourist destination.
