Trip to Manali was planned by college in the month of December for 10 days. Everything starting from train reservation, hotel booking and site seeing was well organized.
On 26th Dec, 2013 we reached Golden Tulip, Amritsar. Hotel was very good. On that day, we went Golden Temple. It is holiest Sikh gurdwara located in the city of Amritsar, Punjab.
Gurdwara is completely made of gold which shines brightly during daytime. The temple is in between small lake. During night time golden color of temple reflects in water. This is just wonderful.
On 27th Dec in afternoon we left for Kulla. During travelling, we enjoyed the awesome climate of kullu.
On 27th night we left for Manali which is 72 km from kullu. Reached Manali Resort which is one of the beautiful resort. We had stay in duplex room with all furniture of wood. Next day we went for various sightseeing. Local sightseeing in Manali are Hidimba devi Temple, Buddhist monastery, Manali historical museum and manali market. In Manali market, we get things like jackets, shawl, shoes and socks which can withstand such a low temperature cilmate. In Manali at 9 in morning temperature was 1 degree.
29th Dec was SNOWY DAY right from morning 7 to night 10. We enjoyed the snow at Solang Valley. We had worn 4 layers of cloths and on top of it jumpsuit. Jumpsuit we get rent near Solang Valley. Temperature was -4 degree, Amazing it was! In solang Valley we did many activities like skiing, zorbing(a giant ball with room of 2 people which rolls from 200 m hill), paragliding, parachuting. Solang Valley has all sports during the month of December and snow melts during the month of may. Skiing is not there during summer. We made Snow man. We get Magiee and boiled eggs everywhere in solang valley. There is restaurant also. Due to heavy snow fall, Solang Valley is shut down. We were lucky enough to enjoy snow and all activities.
All and all, I want to say Manali is heaven in the month of December and January. Everyone should visit this place atleast once.
