Mandira was seen by the mass when she came in the super hit , ’Dil wale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’.
She starred as a young , shy Punjaban who had a huge crush on Sharukh Khan. She looked quiet sweet in the movie. It marked her entry into Bollywood.
SHE WAS also there with her hair all fuzzed up, dark black Kajal under her eyes giving powerful dialogue delivery in a serial called ’Shanti". The serial won her lots of allocades and Mandira Bedi had started gaining her popularity.
Years later after many serials, and roles in movies, she joined as an Indian cricket anchor and from the shy and demure girl of DDLJ, she became the bold and daring .
SHe like a million women around the globe is too a fan of cricket. But cricket ( as we know the hype )seems like a mans game and men play cricket. WE dont see on Indian television a women’s cricket federation and neither did we see any womens team playing cricket in the recently held world cup at the carribeans. But they never failed to focus on the bikini clad women!
So what was Man dira doing in the anchor room. Her co- host Charu is a charming presentor and speaks impressive English .Indians all around the world were watching the Indian team perform and we all saw Mandira perform too. THe Indian team put us to shame but we are wondering what is happening to the women celeberities of India.. THe skirts are getting shorter and shorter and the blouses are hardly there. WOmen under the banner of being liberal, have stopped wearing clothes . In my opiniion this is being in shackles and letting men dictate what a woman should wear and what she should not.
As far as her cricket commentary goes she hardly seemed to be playing any role in it being in the midst of her saree changes.
Charu is a very good host and he just by himslef could mange the comments very well.
Its time Mandira retire and take some rest.I htnk she is performing better sitting next to Sidhu in the laughter show.
