I went to Mandovi Motors based on the advertisement in the newspaper and a telecon that I had with one of their dealerships. I wanted to purchase a Maruti 800. As per the advertisement I had to make a downpayment of Rs. 35, 000 and the rest had to be payed through loans. When I enquired about the scheme they said that this scheme did not exist and that the minimum downpayment that I would have to pay would be Rs. 70, 000.
Well, this was not what I was looking for. I told them so and said that I will get back to them once I made a decision. Unfortunately I had given them my phone number. After that I got many calls from them saying that you must purchase now since the prices will go up very soon and they told me of various advantages that will remain only for a week or so.
I very decently told them that I need some time to look at other options and will get back to them and that they should not call me as it was harassing. Even after this I kept getting calls some of which I did not return. Finally one day one of their marketing executives called me and talked in a manner that no sane person would. She talked to me as if I was cheating them and when I tried to explain my position she rudely put down the phone.
I fail to understand instead of building a good relationship with customers why they try every trick in the book to get a deal? Who will tell them that they will lose customers if they behave like this? As for me, I am definetily buy a car but that will certainly not be from Mandovi as they have a very poor customer care service. They must realize that in todays India a customer has hundreds of good option sto choose from. Moreover, purchasing a car or a house is not similar to purchasing vegetables. It requires time and money. These people should realize that the days of bad behaviour are over.
As much as I want a product you also want our money. And I for one will not give my money to someone who is rudeand whom I cannot trust.
