Annick Goutal Mandragore

Annick Goutal’s fragrance Mandragore is made in France entirely of natural essences. It has essences of pepper, clove, star anise and mandrake(at least to my nose), and is an exotic change from the floral, or musky fragrances on the market.

Mandragore is available for both men and women as Eau de toilette or Eau de Parfum, and also comes as a delicious, foamy “Gel’shower’ Parfume” and a “Crème parfumee, pour le Corps” for those who like to pamper themselves and shower and bathe in their favorite scent and then moisturize. This “scent layering” is a lovely way to intensify the effect of the perfume, without overpowering by applying too much perfume at once.

The standard size for the Eau de toilette is 100 ml and will cost about$115.00, the “Gel” is 150 ml and will cost about$65.00 and the “Crème” is also 150 ml and$65.00. Expect to get about a year’s use out of the bottle of Eau de toilette(although ‘Your Mileage May Vary’ depending on how much you like to use?). The crème and the gel will last for about 6 months, using a soft sponge for plenty of suds!

I recommend this fragrance for the exotic woman who likes spices, who likes to stand out in a crowd, yet in a subtle fashion. You won’t overpower with this scent, rather, you will entice others into your sphere, wondering, “Who is that mystery woman?”

(If you like this scent, you may also like Hermes “Caleche” as well.)
