India, a country of diverse civilizations, rich cultural influences, and thousands of religions and languages, its the same country which was ruled and thrashed by the British Empire. Let’s look into the pages of the history, 1600 A.D, which remarks the entry of the East India Company in Bengal for the trade purpose. It was a matter of months to get on to the original intentions for Britain, those intentions were not revealed fully, and by the time, the fire broke out, we didn’t notice of becoming slave in our own nation. Probably it was the cause of the ineffective Administrative power of the last emperor of the Mughal Dynasty, Bahadur-Shah-Zafar, though to blame him fully for this, would be injustice. When your own blood is infected, you can’t save anyone else by donating it.
I am not here to narrate the History of Medieval India nor I am talking of the Modern one, I am here to talk of the revolt, the Great Revolt of 1857, which rather I call as the foundation for the movement towards the realization of a free India. A Day, when the first revolt against the Britishers arises, someone sought against them, someone took the first step towards freedom, someone who is not ready to accept the slavery as the fortune of the life, someone who rather prefers to die than to be a slave in his own country, yes I am talking about None other than Mangal Pandey, The Great Hero.
The Rising is a story of our own, it’s a reality shown in the form of the movie, it’s an effort by the India Cinema towards gratifying the unimaginary effort of Mangal Pandey in the Freedom Movement. The main cause of the 1857 revolt was Mangal Pandey’s denying the use of Kartoos made up of animal skins.
The Film is worth watching because of various factors, the most addressing one is Aamir Khan’s performance, I am able to do a justice to the performance of Aamir in The Rising before its release and that’s just because of his past performance in Lagaan and some of other great movies. His dialogue deliveries, style, attitude, and look all fit exactly into the sketch, which comes in our mind, when we think of Mangal Pandey. The most fascinating part of his personality is his moustache, the long black hairy, which gives a dare devil look to him.
Moreover, the presence of the great actress Rani Mukherjee in the movie, whose Black magic is still intoxicating us, is again one of the plus points that the movie would be superb, as far as the acting is concern. The plot and the script is well written and defined, it’s Ketan Mehta again, one of the famous directors in the industry.
I can’t predict about the songs in the movie because It hasn’t reached to my ears yet but seeing the experience of the previous songs from other movies of Aamir, one can obviously be assured of its effectiveness.
Once for all, a Great movie to watch so please don’t forget to watch it on the first day first show. The Countdown begins now…………..hey hey….
With Luv,
