I have been visiting Manipal Hospital for my Anomaly scans. Im required to get scans done there every month due to some complications and have no qualms about the doctors who perform it, or their assistants there. Dr Prathima Radhakrishnan, a foetal medicine specialist and a sonologist, did a very good job and her assistants were extremely good and polite too.
But my interaction with the receptionist during my visits there has been very bad. She is absolutely rude, lack courtesy, and does not care enough to guide the patients, and the attitude she carries is appalling. When I tried to fix an appointment for the next month scan too.
I had issues with her and the tone she uses really irritates. She misplaced the slip that was given by the doctor after my scan, which is required for her to raise the billing on her system, and didnt bother to inform us. I went to the billing counter, which is on the ground floor, with my hospital number, only to be later told that the billing is not raised. All calls made to her from the billing counter by the person there went unanswered. We had to go upstairs again to ask her to raise the billing.
For which she said I did not give her the slip and refused to accept that she misplaced it. We had to come to the billing section again on the ground floor to make the payment and meet her upstairs again to collect the report. Im required to visit the scan center every month and I really look forward to meeting Dr. Prathima, but the thought of the receptionist turns me away. She definitely needs a lesson or two in people management/customer care.

Priya
