I had gone to bangalore for the first time for my medical examinations at the institute of aerospace medicine, for the initial issue of commercial pilot’s license. during the medicals, the air force ophthalmologist had some doubts regarding the thickness of my cornea. so, I was advised to go to some civil hospital for some advanced eye tests. manipal hospital being the closest, I opted to go there, which I think was the biggest mistake I did. I went in the afternoon & was assured that all the tests will be over by evening. after completing one of the tests, my eyes were dilated for further tests. I was then told to wait for about 45 mins. after waiting for about 2 hrs, I was told to come again on the next day in the morning as the doctors had already left for the day. next day, when I reached there at 8 am , I was again assured that the tests will be over by 11 am. but again, I was made to wait till 12:30 pm as the consultant ophthalmologist, Dr. AJANTA CHAKRAVARTY, was not available. finally, after she arrived, my tests were done & I got the reports at 01:30 pm.
believe me, Dr. CHAKRAVARTY is the most incompetent & unprofessional eye doctor i’ve ever come across. moreover, she’s very much rude & arrogant also. while doing the tests, she was involved so much in chatting with her assistant doctor, that she missed the measurements several times & I had to repeat the test again & again. normally the doctors in such hospitals are very soft spoken but here at manipal, they shout at the patients & make them nervous during the tests. there is a total loss of management & patients are checked for their PATIENCE . its even worse than a government hospital. the reports given after the tests are not furnished with sufficient details & cost of the tests is too high.......
i would suggest all the people never ever go to this hospital & at least to the eye department..... it really SUCKS!!!
