Manipal useless MICU - JoseChako & team - killers

I am writing this to say how bad the Manipal Hospital is.

Apart from the infrastructure and the big fradulent billing, there is nothing great or even average in the hospital.

It has not even the basic ethics, the nurses, sisters and the emergency ward attenders are too hasty of emergency situations.

Then in Manipal, we landed in emergency ward at 12:30 midnight. Again the admit card and so. But the lady was awake and hope already the person before me had woke her up.

Then I filled up the disclaimer, while my father was crying, and making bizzarre sounds due to pain which he could not bear.

While doing this, I noticed the nurse and staffs giggling and commenting about my father "enna indha thatha ippadi satham podudhu ... ha ha ha" (what this oldman is making sounds like this!)

i was very much irritated by this, but no I cant think of anything else, other than trying my best to save my father.

The doctor (trainee from medical college) kept asking stupid questions to my father, what happened to you, why are you crying, etc. other than taking "the next step" in this emergency situation.

i was shouting at the trainee doctor, to take emergency steps rather than asking all to him. I have already explained her the past treatment and have given the "discharge summary" from Medical Trust - Kochi. She was even lazy to read it full. Just read the points and started asking the same to my father itself. Since I shouted at her like this. She said you are not allowed inside, first go out.

I had to abide by the rules, requesting her "please call some chief doctor madam"

Around 2:05 Dr. Milap came and asked from first. I explained him, gave the discharge summary too. He then attended to my father and said (around 2:30 am) he is very serious and he needs to be admitted in ICU. He said the cost would be approximately 2.5-3 lakhs. I said ok please go ahead, we know he is serious and needs to be in ICU and thats the point we brought him.

One more doctor Dr. Milap came at this time and I repeated the same and all, I became mad ... and said I know all these please take him to ICU and do the neccessary treatment, when he repeated the same prognosis and the cost as the previous doctor Saurabh .

So at around 4 :10 am he was moved to MICU and we were not allowed to see my father. The doctor Saurabh/ Milap said, all is fine, we will take care, please go home and come at 7 am, so you can see your father. I relucted. He said, you cant even stand outside the MICU better go home, I saw that you have done all the necessary formalities and your mom too seems very sick and do not let something happen to her.

I cant see my mother to fall sick again, I asked her to be in hospital and I will bring the necessary things from home. she came in the night dress and said I will change my dress alone to saree and come back. So I took her to home close to Whitefield. we entered the home at 5:15, a call came from the MICU that I had to come and do an MICU admit card. Bleady s.. I have done it already, the doctor Saurabh/ Milap had said all formalities have been done and I can go. how come he said that and now ...

the nurse named Sankey said, "sir...i dont know all about that, until you come and do this, we cant do any treatment for your father, am sorry" ...

i called my cousin residing near Indiranagar, and asked him to help. When he did the formalities it was around 6:10 am and he said, they did not do any treatment to him still and yelled at me for not staying there. Yes, I did a mistake.

we went back at 7 am and were not allowed to see my father, saying there is still treatment going on an so. the visiting hours 7-8 passed.

One doctor came in b.w and said his kidney had failed and need to do dialysys which would cost an addtional of 8 to 12 thousand. we said "ok, just save my father".

we were called at 8:15 to MICU and Dr.Ashwini Murthy (she came to hospital at 7:30 am) said that your father is in ventilator and very slim chances of survival may be 20% chances. She explained this; and my mother began to cry, and me too. I asked about dialysis. she said "dialysis not done as the Blood Pressure is very low"

Dr.Sourabh came at 10:15 and said, he is no more. I said him, still the number were showing in the monitor (displayed 80, 81, 78 etc.)

He said that it was showing "something" and it was "not correct". He asked me to see a red line on the monitor. he said its ABP (Blood Pressure) and that was completely flat, which showed that he is no more.

I felt we were fooled by the hospital and the doctors.

we got a bill of about 58000. (mostly surgical equipments and very less medicines) They had said they gave 5 units of blood. Unbelivable. These guys are talking to somewhat educated people. As a layman I can see the last unit of blood given between 8 am to 10am. if this is one unit for 2 hours. Then if I assume he has been given blood from the time of admittion into ICU ie., 4 am to 8am, its only 2 more units. ie., total 3 units. they have added two more just like that.

after my father’s cremation was over, I came with my cousin and fighting for justice,

  1. for delayed treatment

  2. waited for 4 hours to be taken to ICU

  3. waited for 2 hours for a good doctor to attend to emergency

  4. admitted at 1am approximately, nothing was done till 6:10 till the admit card was given.

  5. Dr.Sourabh’s & Dr. Milap’s verdict of "all formalities are complete and you are allowed only at 7am". And then the nurse calling us to come back and do the admit card.

  6. poor ethics (giggles and comments in the emergency ward by nurses, staffs and attending doctor)Dr.Priya, Dr.Ayesha and the staffs and nurse in emergency ward.

  7. 5 units of blood in less hours ( 4 units in 4 hours and 1 unit in the last 2 hour when we were there) Either 5 units is false (cheating), or if given its of high dose(wrong treatment)

  8. The cheating of the nurse/and Ashwini Murthy showing the monitor and the number and then another doctor saying its showing "something wrong"

  9. The heavy billing done, which is mostly of surgical equipments (things like thermometer are 2 in number)

Bottomline: Manipal MICU / Dr.Ashwinin Murthy, Dr. Jose Chacko, Dr. Saurabh , Dr. Milap, Dr.Priya, Dr.Ayesha. are all those involved.
