Wassup everybody..i jus finished watching ManjuPolu Oru Penkutty in dvd..i was waiting for this and I had high expectations for this movie and the movie exceeded my expectations! the movie was a brillian portrayal of a young teenage girl who is undergoing a serious problem that I think that we should all be aware about...NO..she is not taking drugs or anything..but her problem is worse than taking drugs..
Kamal has extracted great performances from the lead cast especially Amritha, BhanuPriya, Suresh Krishna and of course Lalu Alex (he recieved the state award for the second best actor in 2005 for this film)
it was disappointing how the movie didnt make wonders at the box offfice as other stupid movies are were superhits (CID Moosa) , because it takes a look at the issues that world is going through today..
so let me shutup and tell you the plot of this movie..
the movie starts by Nithi( Amritha) who narrates the whole movie to the audience. She introduces herself, the school she goes, her best friend or (boyfriend) Sandeep (Jayakrishan), and then we see her sister and her mom who a manager at Margin Free Supermarket. so you might be thinking, does she have a dad? Yes, she does, but its actually her stepdad Mohan (Suresh Krishna) who is a business man and they all live in a flat..
later on Nidi tell us what the her deepest, dark problem is...her stepdad Mohan wants to have sexual relations with her... and he is constantly harassing her..
Nidi is really uneasy and she is scared..due to this problem Nidhi started to slack off in school and other activities....
Nidi wanted to say everything to her mother but her stepdad threatened that he woulld kill Nidhi’s mother and sister...
then she tells everything to Sandeep, and then decides to kill her stepdad..
she seeks the help of Manuel Uncle (Lalu Alex) who is her neighbor, who everybody else thinks is a womaniser..but Manuel Uncle is a good man with a heart of Gold...
Manuel Uncle agrees to finish of the stepdad as Nidhi told him everything, and Sandeep seeks the help of another friend who supplies them with a gun
they devised a well-laid plan, but everything goes awry as the evil stepdad kills Manuel Uncle..

HA! Well go watch the movie, when it comes out in cassette or dvd..but let me tell you..its a good ending!
It is a bold theme and Kamal deserves full credit for making this racy and well packaged film
Like I said the movie is excellent and emotional, and makes us think alot..
Amritha as Nidhi and Lalu Alex as Manuel Uncle gives a powerpacked, charismatic, performance
Suresh Krishna, JayaKrishan, Meera Krishna, other were well apt.
