It is funny to me how SRK Khan gets pages of reviews and yet REAL actors like Ajay Devgan and this fellow get 1, 2, 3, or at the most 4 or 5 reviews. Helps me understand what Bollywood is all about...definitely not abt talent. I just had to come and write about this guy. What a talented guy...extremely laid back...to the point and tremendous ability in the front of the camera.
I have seen Bajpai in several films...Pinjar (2x)...Jaago (2x)...Kaun (1x)...Veer Zaara (2x)...and Bewafaa (1x). He has done his part in each of this films...regardless of how big or small the role...and leaves a mark. Bewafaa for instance...what a ridiculous movie...and that too taking in an actor like Bajpai for that pathetic role alongside Shamita Shetty. He still managed to make it work w/whatever little he had to work with. What then to say of his role in Pinjar. He does an extraordinary job w/the character of Rashid and that too w/out saying much...his expressions say it all and then some more. In Jaago again he does the same thing...unlike some actors in police officer roles who choose to SCREAM out their dialogues (like we’re deaf) Bajpai delivers in a ’by-the-way’ tone and yet it manages to get to you.
It is amazing how underrated an actor he is and I hope he gets his due credit. When the SRK’s of the world can get all this adulation why can’t a real talenthouse?
