With all the negative reviews about Nagarjuna Don my friends and I opt for "Mantra". promos were promising.Actually showing only one actress throughout the promo - charmy obviously it attracts all the folks.
STORY - Movie starts with a suicide in mantra nilayam.A Husband jumps from the balcony infront of his wife.Whole film revolves around the mantra nilayam a lone bungalow located in the outskirts of Hyderabad which is inherited by Mantra(charmy) from her late father.mantra lives in the city with a friend.Due to debts mantra wants to sell the house but in vain due to the notorious deaths in the bungalow. before the husband jumped of the balcony death of a couple took place.With three deaths the bangalow is named as GHOST HOUSE.Though a professor interests in buying he puts a condition that someone has to live in the house for some days.Now mantra’s uncle who lend money to his father vexed with mantras reason hires a small time goon hero(sivaji) to threat her.Hero nags mantra and her roommate by staying in her room. Atlast Hero comes with a deal to help her in selling the house.Hero with his friends go to mantra nilayam to stay there for few days.But in a few days a friend of hero gets killed suspiciously. Now hero starts to investigate the deaths.Thanks to background music and sound effects audience experience many scary moments.Are the deaths caused by evil? Is mantra a ghost? Is the wife who is psychotic did these? Ghost or Human . who is going on killing spree must watch on the big screen
Performance - Great performances from the leading actors espically charmy and sivaji.This film will give them much awaited break for the two.
Cinematography: Very good elevates the mood of the film.
Music - Two songs .Music is good but it would be great if the song is original.But I can say they succeed to copy. Background music and sound effects stand out of this movie.
Direction: I heard its his debut .Cool direction but he could have concentrated more on the climax part too it would be great watch.

For horror/mystery/suspense movie buffs its a must watch.Heart patients better to skip this.
