Dr. Brian Weiss, a psychiatrist who practices in Miami (Florida) has written this wonderful book “MANY LIVES, MANY MASTERS”; based on the true experience he had while treating Catherine, his patient for 18 months.
Now, this book deals with the Past lives and the Messages that are received from the different MASTERS at different planes.
Catherine, a 27year old woman met Dr. Brian in 1980 for seeking help from Anxiety, Panic Attacks and Phobias. Though it existed during her childhood days, things became worse in recent past making her Emotionally Paralyzed and terribly depressed.
Dr. Brian, himself has admitted that being a scientist and physician, he distrusted anything that could not be proved by traditional scientific methods. 1.THE FIRST SESSION: Catherine who too worked in the same hospital as a lab technician revealed her story ---born in a conservative Catholic family, alcoholic father, depressed mother, she was not her parents favorite child unlike her siblings. Her life was full of FEARS ---fear of water so much that she wouldn’t even drink it while swallowing pill for the fear of choking, airplanes, darkness, death & nightmares. As she spoke, she became Tense, nervous; rapidness in speech .Her personal life too was in mess as her affair with the married man Stuart was in shambles.
2.In 1982 when she accompanied Stuart to visit Egyptian Exhibition in Chicago, strange thing happened. As the guide was describing some of the artifacts, she found herself correcting him and she was Right. But how did she know ????? Catherine too was very stunned but could not recall the source.
During the next session with Dr. Brian, he suggested on using HYPNOSIS. This process helps in remembering long forgotten incidents. It’s a state of FOCUSSED CONCENTRATION.
As she relaxed slowly, her TRANCE STATE deepened. Dr. Brian asked her to recall earlier childhood memories. That’s when she remembered the Traumatic experience at the dentist as a 6 yr old, the terrifying experience of GAGGING & CHOKING when someone pushed her into a pool at 5 yrs of age and the worst of all----at 3 yrs she was physically abused by her father. While speaking about it, she was sobbing. Dr. Brian realized that this was the key info for her current phobias and she would be eventually cured out of this. She left the clinic visibly shaken after remembering the traumatic relationship with her father.
- But the next week when she met Dr. Brian, her symptoms remained as it is. Even the doctor was a bit surprised as normally a patient improves with the hypnotic therapy. So again he asked her to REGRESS during the hypnosis. What the outcome was entirelystartling and shocking for the doctor…
When he instructed her to go to the time from which her symptoms arise…Catherine was in deepest trance. She said she is 18 yrs of age, named Aronda, 1863 B.C.; she lives in a valley, no water, its hot-sandy-barren, no rivers ….
As she narrated this, doctor asked her to go to several years ahead in time . She said she is now 25 yrs, has a girl child Rachel (Rachel is infact presently her niece), its v hot, suddenly a huge flood is devastating the village, she is choking in that water, the baby is gone……..
That LIFETIME had ended!!!!
Doc was shocked at this revelation of REINCARNATION!!!! It was certainly not hallucinations or fantasies. Catherine went to narrate several other past births that she had taken. Each time she had different reincarnation--- an Old Spanish lady (1756 A.D.), a prostitute (1586 B.C.)-------In all these, she died due to choking in WATER!!!
After this session, Catherine’s fears of choking had diminished.
- During the next session of hypnosis, again Catherine went into trance revealing her birth as a servant in a Royal House and putting the death-bodies in brine for 30days, dry and take their parts out------This was in EGYPT !!!
Similarly, she narrated different births she had taken during each hypnotic session. After revealing her dying scene in each lifetime, she found herself floating above her body, drifted up to the clouds, confused & perplexed…… till she took another birth. Every time as she used to progress towards the death scene, she would whisper softly.
But at one such session while floating after her death, instead of whispering, she saw a bright light. Her voice turned Husky and Loud and said: Our task is to Learn, to become God-like through knowledge ……………………Then we come back to teach and help others.
This was the lesson, after her death, from the IN-BETWEEN State.
Infact, Catherine was chosen as a Medium to relate the words from the Masters, highly evolved souls from the source. She could channel knowledge from the BEYOND!!!
5.Similar Hypnotic sessions continued where Catherine narrated about the various births she had taken, death scene and finally the floating of the soul too. The in-between-lives state, the Masters spoke through her and even revealed about the mysterious death of Dr.Brian’s First Born Son !!!!!!!!! This was indeed shocking for the doctor, as Catherine had absolutely no idea of his personal life!!

We also must learn not to just go to those people whose vibrations are the same as ours …………….u must also go to those whose vibrations are wrong with yours…in helping these people.

After these sessions, Catherine’s condition improved and she was very radiant and intuitive too. Whatever was revealed under hypnosis, Catherine confirmed it with a Psychic Astrologer who specialized in past-life readings. She had in fact taken several births in past life both as male and female.
Dr.Brian too became more intuitive and has used this regression therapy into multiple past lives in a dozen more patients to solve their present life agonies, anxieties etc. His life also has changed.
After reading this, I was spellbound. There is so much to introspect on LIFE-BEYOND and wonders of the BRIGHTER WORLD!!!! Its a welcome relief from other fiction stories.
