Got MapmyIndia Lx340 GPS a week ago & here are some findings
Pros
- Very accurate & quick satellite connect thus offering accurate directions & not wasting time in searching satellites
Cons
Doesn’t offer pedestrian mode operation due to lower battery capacity and no Wall charger
Key board has a limitation e.g. If I write location as " Location A, Mahabaleshwar" & change it to " Location B, Mahabaleshwar" I need to erase entire 13 letters of Mahabaleshwar to reach A.....I just can’t delete A & replace with B.....Not acceptable in technology age of 2013
Catch in the 3D maps terms.....The sticker on the box says "life like 3D & all India terrain" whereas when I click the 2d-3d buttons on the screen I don’t see significant difference. Their Helpdesk representative says that it offers only structural 3d......Is MMI playing with words/stickers and taking for ride???
The quality of plastic & stylus seems cheap
If given an option I would like to return this device as its not value for 8.9K....I went for it ( (inspite the dealer & few friends suggesting Garmin) as I felt MMI understand India and Indian customers better.
MMI should have focussed more on GPS user experince rather than features like Games, Ebook reader, Music, Video, photo browser
