Tabu as pure as Hardy's Tess

When I saw Maqbool first time, I wanted to make sure I understood everything. I didn’t wish to leave anything at the back. Tabu was more characterized by Abbaji’s dynasty. She lived in an estate she never desired of. She was respected by everyone she didn’t care about. She was loved by the man she never loved. This is what I perceive when I see Tabu. Thomas Hardy’s Tess of d’urbervilles is as compatible as Tabu, though they both dwelled in a altogether different ambience. Maqbool is a sensitive disposition that reminds me of Saleem Peeradina’s poem – ‘Poem to a Wife not my Own’… Instead, I sat as if abandoned By my wish and your hair tumbled Down and clasping your knee you broke Hastily into conversation. When you overall go through the persona of Tabu’s lover, you can actually see Satan in his eyes. Maqbool’s temperament is likely to bring disasters… he was powerful in Abbaji’s dynasty even. After Abbaji was murdered, Maqbool’s fierce personality was in front of his Nimmi and audience. Had Allah been more lenient, Nimmi and Maqbool would have lived together and ever. Abbaji’s bloodshed in a triangle love story is brutal but everything is fair in love and war. Anyways one had to die. Abbaji. The lovers had to meet. At the point, I found Maqbool so strong and happy. I had heard long back – LOVE WINS. LOVE ALWAYS WINS. Both Irfan and Tabu have acted well. Remember Tabu could even bring tears in Maqbool’s eyes. The last scene of their being together. It’s not necessary that one is deeply in love only when one is with her/his loved one. LOVE PERSPIRES IN HEARTS.
