What made me notice Mariah Carey to start of with was the rumour that she had an 8 octave range which would be truly impressive and is! As she demonstrates on this album and all her other releases!
A truly great singer who has been around for years and hopefully many more as she re-invents herself as does Madonna as shes now moved onto more R&B sounds with songs such as Honey.
My Favourites on the album includes all the Hits especially the spanish sounding hit I dont Wanna Cry.What also makes Mariah carey special is that from the start of her career, she made input into the songs unlike many artists as she co-wrote all the tracks on the album which is truly impressive and inspiring to budding singers and songwriters!
Shes shows determination and a dream can come true helping others realise their dreams also.
A great singer with great tracks although there are only 11 which is lacking in a way is more polished than newer albums and the songs tend to be longer. They do say its quality and not quantitiy and this album is true to the saying.
I’d recommend this album to everyone Especially Mariah Carey fans because this is the album which started it all. A great start to the collection ( I only need 3 more and I’ve got all of them!)
No wonder she is about to make 20 million for each album and the reason why Sony are gutted they lost her to Virgin is that over the 10 years there, Mariah made over 1 billion dollars for the company!
