Well Here I am again with one of my favourite topics i.e.Marlon Brando.
If there would ever be a contest to decide that who rightfully deserves the title of God of Acting , im pretty sure it would be a very close tie between Marlon Brando and Laurence Olivier.
While Olivier belongs to the traditional/classic school of acting, Brando is the pioneer of method school of acting, followed subsequently by other great actors like DeNiro etc.
So in a sense, Brando revolutionised the art of acting forever.
Before the emergence of Bando on the acting scene, acting generally was done in a more theatrical mode. But Brando made it look so natural and real that people even used to forget, while watching him in action, that they were witnessing characters being acted-out.
His most memorable works include:
-Street Car Named Desire
-Julies Caeser
-On The Water Front
-God Father-I
-Last Tango In Paris, etc.
His most astonishing ability was to make the characters he played his own.Now if one watches his performance in a certain role, one cannot possibly think of anyother actor playing the same role with equal finesse.
He was the one actor who could convey thousand words of emotion with just one pause/glance.
My sincere advice to the aspiring actors is to study his movies;that should save them heavy training charges.
I hope that all those of my readers who have even the slightest of interest in experiencing the sheer joy of watching great acting being displayed onto the screen will try some of Brando Treats.
Bye and take care all of you.
P.S: More on Laurence Olivier later.
