It is to relive the nightmare I went through by driving Maruti Car 800.
I am a tall person about 6 in height. The car is designed for a small frame probably for travellers in Japan. The seat is designed in such a manner that one has to crouch and sit awkwardly in the car.
I do not know how many cars have been sold in the Indian market. They have probably not shown any consideration for the customers and having the monopoly sold the car on the strength of the attributes - cheap price, light weight, good pick up, glossing over the ergonomic seat design requirement.
..2..
Once the competition started hotting up, then they came up with modified seats and Wagon R is touted as comfort car having better seats.
This shows the lack of concern for the consumer.
The second issue is about costly spares. Especially when the suspension is bad and not revamped to meet Indian road conditions. Why the seats were not provided with extra suspension?
Atleast half a dozen tall people of similar structure have changed Maruti 800 and changed to either zen or other cars.
Many people driving 800 complian of back pain caused by stresses by sitting in the crouched position.
We should send all the medical bills to Maruti for settlement of pain caused by faulty design which otherwise is a very light car.
