Need I say more? I have an 800 from 98 August. Have just done city driving in Bangalore and haverun 65000 Kms till yesterday. Touch wood, there has been absolutely no probs with this beauty. I do periodic maintenance regularly.
I have a carburettor version and I find it much smoother than the MPFI version. At one point I got a mileage as low as 14 kpl on highways. But after tuning now I’m getting about 17-18 kpl, but at optimum driving speeds. At speeds above 85/90 kmph, the vehicle starts drinking petrol uncontrollably. In city, I get about 15 kpl mileage.
Does the official description show an initial acceleration of 0-60 kmph in 8.3 secs? I beg to differ! I can my beaut to reach 60 kmph in about 5-6 secs!
I have taken 6 people in my car and the car ran like a breeze. The vehicle is small enough that you can squeeze in and out in heavy traffic conditions. Great value for money. Can compete with the santros and the palios.
One thing that this car lacks is good finishing. On close observation it looks more like a hand assembled car with a bit of crude interiors.
