According to me A Maruti 800 is like a pair of blue jeans....it will never go out of style !!Although I love big cars, my family settled for a 800.
When the new car came home , it was a moment of mixed emotions since I had bid farewell to my old 800 and I was faced with a new 800...the exact same colour.!!!!Although there was a lot of difference in the two models.....the neighbours couldnt fathom why we were distributing sweets and there was a huge garland on the car[ without a number plate of course] on a non-festive day !!!!!
The first three days with the new car were absolute heaven , the smell of fresh upholstery, car perfume and my brand new ganesh idol on the dash board!!
The fourth day, I took the car out to do numerous errands to practically all parts of the city. Just as I parked the car in my parking , the gear stick gave way as if it had lost its tension.
I switched off the car and bent below the car to see what fell down since I had heard a faint noise of some kind of spare part giving way.
To my horror, there was a long rod that hung loose scraping the ground. Frantic phone calls to the mechanic and 20hours later, I was told that this was a one in a million case where the nut attaching this rod to the gear stick fell off.!!!!!!!!!!!
I was so happy that I was still alive cause , had it have happened on the road , I wouldnt have been here writing this review.
