If you want to graduate from bike-class to car-class , then the 800 is the car for you . If money is not a major criteria then you could go in for a Santro or a Uno , but otherwise the 800 is the most viable option , keeping in mind a blend of comfort , service , spares and good looks .
The Santro may be a tall-boy , but ugly would seem like a compliment to describe it’s outer looks . It does have , inner beauty’ though , a phrase made popular by our assembly line beauty queens .
Similarly Uno , well , you know , its looks are in the Bahenji era , though it is one helluva car.
Coming back to the basic M 800 , it has 3 cylinders and around 40 BHP , enough grunt to carry 4 people comfortably , though over crater – type potholes , the 800 itself has to be carried over . It doesn’t have or need power steering , lightweight that it is .The Dx version also has an AC , delay option in wipers, a mirror behind the passenger side sun shade and a hint of a tint on the glasses .
The 800’s suspension isnt very cool as also the original skinny tyres that it comes with , but for an entry level car , you just can’t beat it like the bajaj ad says. If you do try beating it , it’s tin sheet just crumples , useful in a minor accident .
